Introduction

The AIMA Northern Region Women’s Meet, organized in connection with International Women’s Day 2026, was successfully held on Sunday, 8th March 2026, at NIOS, Sector 62, Noida, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The event brought together women members, families, and guests from across the Northern Region in a vibrant gathering dedicated to empowerment, awareness, skill development, and celebration of womanhood.

The meet was thoughtfully designed to combine knowledge, inspiration, practical learning, and cultural engagement, making it a meaningful platform for interaction and growth. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and positive energy throughout the program, reflecting the collective spirit and commitment of the members.

A Graceful Beginning – Lighting of the Lamp

The program commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the removal of darkness and the spread of knowledge, wisdom, and positivity.

The session was beautifully anchored by Smt. Deepthi Nair, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries, guests, and participants. In her opening remarks, she highlighted the significance of International Women’s Day, emphasizing the achievements, resilience, and contributions of women in shaping families, communities, and society at large.

The ceremonial lamp lighting marked a graceful and auspicious start to the event, setting a positive and inspiring tone for the rest of the program.

Health Awareness and Life-Saving Knowledge

One of the most important segments of the meet was the Special Training Session on Emergency Response, First Aid, and Breast Self-Examination, conducted by expert doctors from Dharamshila Narayana Superspeciality Hospital & Cancer Research Centre.

The session was led by Dr. Rashmi Rekha Bora, Head of Gynecologic Oncology at Dharamshila Narayana Hospital, Delhi. With her vast experience of more than 19 years in women’s health and oncology, she provided valuable insights into early detection, preventive care, and awareness regarding women’s health issues, especially breast cancer.

The interactive nature of the session made it extremely engaging. Participants actively asked questions and clarified doubts regarding cancer prevention, early diagnosis, and emergency care. The session successfully emphasized the importance of awareness, timely medical consultation, and self-care, equipping participants with knowledge that could potentially save lives.

Entrepreneurship and Skill Development – Baking Workshop

The event also focused on economic empowerment and skill-building opportunities for women, through a special Entrepreneurship Training and Baking Workshop conducted by Organic German Bakeshop.

The workshop introduced participants to the art and science of baking, demonstrating how simple skills can be developed into meaningful livelihood opportunities. The session was led by Mr. Michael Schmid, a well-known social entrepreneur and founder of the Learn for Life Empowerment Project, who has been working between Europe and India for more than three decades.

The workshop encouraged many women to explore baking not just as a hobby but as a potential income-generating activity.

Celebrating the Bond of Love – Mom & Me Fashion Show

Adding color and excitement to the event was the “Mom & Me” Fashion Show Competition, which celebrated the beautiful and timeless bond between mothers and their children.

Participants confidently walked the ramp together, proudly showcasing their connection and style. The competition was conducted in Junior and Senior categories, allowing both young participants and adults to take part and enjoy the experience.

The fashion show created a lively atmosphere filled with applause, laughter, and appreciation from the audience. It was not merely a display of fashion but a celebration of love, confidence, family bonding, and the joyful spirit of the occasion.
