Over the weekend of July 12–13, 2025, the All India Malayalee Association (AIMA) convened its 18th Annual Day celebrations and National General Council (NGC) meeting at the prestigious Gokulam Grand complex in Kozhikode. AIMA members from across India gathered for two days of strategic engagement, empowerment, and cultural festivity.

Day 1 – July 12: Executive Wrap & Empowerment

Morning – National Executive Committee Meeting (9:00 AM, Gokulam Grand)
The event kicked off with the National Executive Committee meeting. Under the leadership of Shri V.P. Sukumaran and with remarks by Jayarajan Nair, the session focused on reviewing the annual report, financial statements, policy direction, and setting priorities for the forthcoming year. It concluded joyfully after a vote of thanks by Smt Prashobha Rajan.

Concurrent – National Women’s Meet (from 10:00 AM, Gokulam Galleria Conference Hall)
A parallel yet equally significant forum, the National Women’s Meet, emphasised women’s leadership and collective action. Highlights included:

  • Entrepreneurship session by Dr. Preethi from NIT Kozhikode.
  • A talk by Smt Divyasree Shijith on “Relevance of Art in Daily Life.”
  • Team-building through interactive games and a lunch break.
  • A live mushroom-healthcare demonstration by Monsoon Mushrooms, Kannur.
  • Reports and action-plan presentations by state convenors.
  • A closing ceremony held at Gokulam Grand, featuring dignitaries, keynote addresses, felicitations, cash awards, and cultural performances by AIMA family.

This day was a vibrant blend of professional development, cultural celebration, and networking—underlining AIMA’s inclusive philosophy.


Day 2 Morning – July 13: National General Council Meeting (9:00 AM)

Continuing at Gokulam Grand, the NGC meeting convened representatives from AIMA’s state chapters.  The formal agenda covered:

  • Opening remarks and adoption of previous minutes
  • Review of state and national performance
  • Finalization of the annual plan and budget
  • Discussion of member-led initiatives
  • Approval of national directives
  • Concluding with a vote of thanks

The session reinforced democratic leadership and accountability within the organization.


Day 2 Evening – Public Function & Cultural Fest (5:00 PM, Meenoz Auditorium)

The grandeur of the event unfolded at Meenoz Auditorium, transforming it into a stage for illustrious addresses, awards, and cultural celebration. Keynote moments included:

  • Leadership speeches— Shri Gokulam Gopalan, Shri K.R. Manoj, Shri A.K. Prashant
  • Inaugural speech by Hon’ble Minister Shri V.N. Vasavan
  • MP Adv. N.K. Premachandran’s address
  • Felicitations by Shri Babu Panicker, Shri Binu Divakaran, and actor Shri Dileep

  • Aksharamudra Award to Shri Sreekumaran Thampi
  • Nest House handover to Shri P.K. Ramachandran
  • ₹5 Lakh cheque awarded to Smt Manjusha (Wayanad) for housing support
  • National Educational Excellence Award to Kum. Nandana Ranjish

The evening also celebrated cartoon competition winners, recognized AIMA Odisha as the “Best‑Performed State Unit,” and honored sponsors like A One Coatings, Western Group, and others. The award segment wrapped up with a vote of thanks by Shri Ravindran Poyilur.


Cultural Showcase & Grand Finale

The night transitioned into an emblematic cultural showcase, beginning with traditional performances by RLV Divyashri Shijith & team, followed by the mega music night featuring Durga Viswathah and Praseetha Chalakkudi. A grand Kerala-style dinner at 10:00 PM brought the community together in a heartfelt toast to unity and tradition
