In an inspiring display of community leadership and civic responsibility, the Rajasthan State Unit of the All India Malayalee Association (AIMA) organized a highly impactful event on Sunday, 8th June 2025. In line with the spirit of World Environment Day, AIMA Rajasthan brought together volunteers, leaders, and citizens for a dual-purpose event—Tree Plantation and a Food for the Needy programme—held at the premises of Algobights Pvt. Ltd., Bhiwadi.

The event symbolized AIMA Rajasthan’s strong commitment to promoting sustainable development and social equity through grassroots-level initiatives. It was conducted under the leadership of the Rajasthan State President, Shri Gopinathan A, with full support and coordination from the State Executive Committee, Women’s Wing, and Youth Wing.

Tree Plantation Drive: A Commitment to Environmental Sustainability

The day commenced with a solemn and purposeful tree plantation drive. A total of 25 saplings were planted in and around the venue by members and volunteers, underscoring the association’s commitment to contributing to ecological balance and environmental conservation. Each sapling symbolized not just growth, but also a promise to nurture and protect the natural world.

This initiative was particularly significant in the context of rising environmental concerns, urban pollution, and deforestation. Through this plantation activity, AIMA Rajasthan not only honored World Environment Day but also created a meaningful impact by enhancing the local green cover and encouraging similar actions in the community.

The leadership and guidance for the plantation drive were provided by:

  • Smt. Prashobha Rajan, National Joint Treasurer and Convener of the Women’s Wing, Rajasthan
  • Mr. Anup Gopinath, Youth Wing Convenor, and sponsor of the event
  • Mr. Vinod, Vice Chairman of AIMA Rajasthan

Their combined efforts, along with the strategic planning by the organizing team, ensured that the plantation was not a symbolic event, but a well-executed and sustainable environmental initiative.

Food for the Needy Programme: Extending Compassion to the Underserved

Simultaneously, AIMA Rajasthan also carried forward its long-standing humanitarian initiative—‘Food for the Needy’. This socially impactful programme provided freshly cooked, nutritious meals to nearly 1,000 underprivileged individuals across various localities in and around Bhiwadi.

More than a charitable activity, this was a reflection of the organization’s values of compassion, empathy, and community solidarity. The meals were served with dignity and care, ensuring that recipients felt respected and included in the spirit of the event.

This initiative was seamlessly managed by a dedicated team of volunteers and members of the Women’s and Youth Wings who prepared, packed, and distributed the food. Their selfless involvement turned the programme into a vibrant expression of service and love.

A call to care for the earth we inhabit, and the people we share it with.
