AIMA Women’s Wing Women’s Day Celebration

Introduction

The AIMA Women’s Wing is thrilled to announce two exciting competitions in celebration of Women’s Day: Photography and Instrumental Music (String & Rhythm). These competitions are open to Malayalee women aged 35 and above and will be judged based on creativity, originality, technical quality, and overall impact. The competitions will be held in three stages: state, regional, and national levels. The first-place winner at the state level advances to the regional competition. The first and second-place winners at the regional level proceed to the national level. The national winners will be awarded cash prizes of ₹3,000 for the first place and ₹2,000 for the second place.

Eligibility and Judging Criteria

Participants must meet common criteria. Eligibility is restricted to Malayalee women aged 35 and above. Judging criteria include creativity, originality, quality, and overall impact.

Submission Guidelines

The submission period is from March 12th to 15th, with specific dates determined by the concerned state. All entries must adhere to competition-specific guidelines. Only the latest photos and videos will be accepted, and each submission must include the date of the photo or video. Judging will be conducted at state, regional, and national levels.

Judging Timeline

The judging timeline follows a structured approach. State-level selections must be completed by March 20th. Regional-level selections should be finalized by March 25th. The national-level deadline for both competitions is March 30th.

Photography Competition

The Photography Competition follows the theme of “Motherhood” and incorporates the 2025 International Women’s Day colors: Purple, Green, and White. Only women should appear in the photos, which must be captured using mobile phones. The quality of images and the effective combination of the three colors will be key evaluation factors.

String Instrumental Music Competition

The String Instrumental Music Competition requires participants to submit a video performance lasting no longer than three minutes. Permitted instruments include the violin, guitar, and veena. Judging will be based on musical talent, creativity, and presentation. Only original videos created specifically for this competition will be accepted; previously recorded performances are not allowed.

Rhythm Instrumental Music Competition

The Rhythm Instrumental Music Competition also requires a video performance lasting no longer than three minutes. The permitted instruments in this category are tabla, triple drum, dholak, mridangam, chenda, and jazz. Judging will be based on musical talent, creativity, and presentation. Only original videos created specifically for this competition will be accepted; previously recorded performances are not allowed.

Charge Officers

Charge officers have been assigned to oversee different regions.

  • East & North Region: Deepthi Nair, National Vice Chairperson & Women’s Wing Convener of UP, and Prashobha Rajan, National Joint Treasurer & Convener of Women’s Wing, Rajasthan.
  • South & West Region: Sandhya Anil, State Convenor of Karnataka, and Latha Namboodiri, NEC Member.
